and the job I had last year….was given to the principal’s friend. Insert expletives here.

I don’t wanna go back to KFC. They treat me like crap, and I can’t get time off, EVER. and I have several commitments this summer. For example, I have to play in the community band for the 4th of July fireworks. I have worked for KFC for 6 years. In those 6 years, I have requested July 4th off EVERY YEAR. and guess what? I’ve worked July 4th every year. That ain’t happening this year!
Friday is field day. 500 person softball game!
My little babies all grown up! And, goin’ to college! You have a tissue?
The kids are INSANE today.
Friday is going to be bad. I have 2 hours of 1st grade and 1.5 of kindergarten and ALOT of teachers are going to be out. Subs= crazy kids.
but they forgot how to behave >.<
guess you can’t have it all. Oh well. It was Friday.
Ps- Thank you Dunkin’ Donuts for revvin’ me up today.
I just have ONE kindergarten class that has no concept of behavior. I swear I had to repeat simple instructions (like, don’t lick your shoe, stop touching him, sit still, etc) like 9 times.
:-)
looking for more apps. Hoping I hear from Marian soon.
I always have problems with that class, but I think it’ll get better after today.
My gramma and my aunt wanted me to go there sooooo bad!
I have another maternity leave cover lined up for next year (unless I get a full time job)! 5th grade! (I like 5th graders)
The problem is: I don’t know if I can make myself go back to KFC this summer. I hate it there, I get treated like crap, I work long hours for next to no pay, and I have to do everyone else’s job. But I can’t really afford to go from June-Sept with no pay.
Guess it’s time to look for summer camps.
and of course I’ll share them on here. I want to include non music ed stuff too, so if you or someone you know has, or wants to share any type of ed video (math/science/history/etc lessons, teaching techniques, etc) feel free to submit them! I would love to have all kinds of educational videos here! Hit up that submit button!
Guest speaker for the 5th graders- demonstrating improv!
later this week- video taping the songs for the cultural fair
They have no discipline policy so there’s no way to keep them from acting crazy! I understand they’re only like 7 years old, but jeez kids, get it together!
I know it’s May- shoot, I’m antsy too (well, only sort of because this is a leave cover, so my job is over June 6th) but come on, do your work. It’s not even like it’s work! We’re singing songs you already know for cultural fair.
Whoo, ok, done venting. In other news, I’ve sent out almost a dozen job apps this month- that’s like 3X as many as were available this time last year, so it’s looking up!
Hey guys, check out this education blog!! It’s got alot of really good stuff!
All I can say is: it was fantastic. Like, I was speechless. I’ve always had super high expectations of them (Because they can do it) and they never cease to amaze me.
They were all super excited when I got there.
But the best part was seeing one of my percussionists warming up the gong before he played it. None of them did that at the beginning of the semester last year. Now, a year later, they still remember!
That’s how you know you’re doing your job.
That and how they can’t wait to tell you everything they’ve been doing, and what they’re college plans are.
That’s why I do this job- because I make a difference.
They’re so cute, but they won’t stop talking and squirming, and there’s no way to discipline them, because they don’t really understand that concept. It’s testing, that’s for sure.
I have SOOOOO much respect for kindergarten teachers!
Still feel like you know what that they didn’t get my message. I know they’re not upset, but it makes me feel bad. At least I’ll be back to work tomorrow.
GAHHH my conscience hurts.
